Granny's Favorite Update

Well, it has been way, but WAAAAAAAAAY too long since last update, so I pushed this one since I believe the changes are actually good for release, beside I still have work to do.

Anyways, new stuff were implemented for you to try out.

Treasure Chests are in!

Each map that is not a safe zone or a city (except for Gavea Crossroads) now has a chance of having treasure chest with loot up for grabs.

Those treasure chests will spawn at random, and their detail will tell which kind of loot they will give, with the most basic reward being given by normal chests, and more decorated ones having more interesting loot to be found.

The loot of those chests are based on their region, so a chest in Gavea fields will not offer the same loot as a chest in Lavanda fields.
Also, dungeons have their own loot table too. Alongside the addition of those chests, new loot were added to the game that will be acquired from opening such chests.

Just do notice that a chest will not respawn if you stay in the same field after their respawn time.

Save File Protection Implemented

Now save files will now have a backup, in case something goes wrong.
Before, the game didn't had save files protection, so if something happened to it, like corruption, you would end up losing all your game progress.

This update will now begin backing up old save files so the game can be restored to before disaster is struck.

Sleepless Bounties Implemented

Implemented a new quest type for those who like some grinding. Those quests will offer objectives that extrapolates on the count you need to fulfill to complete the quest, offering missions that, for example, ask you to kill 100 of a specific monster.

To not make it annoying to browse normal quests, there are new npcs that will be specialized on offering those kinds of quests, and they will only allow you to take one Sleepless bounty at a time. They can be found somewhere around the npc that offers you normal bounties in Gavea Guild Academy, and Lavanda Settlement.

Currently, those quests doesn't offer other reward than golds and experience. In the future I'll try to add some handy reward, but
not in a way that would turn it obligatory to do such quests, since I intend on making them up to the player.

Farm Owner Clint Quest Line Fraction added

The Gavea Farmland plot proceeds, but I only managed to add part of the quest line for Farm Owner Clint.

Currently, it will not give you any item reward, since it's not finished, but you can go ahead and do it if you want.

Of course, there is a cliff hanger there, but I'll try sorting that out later.

Maria's Frost Element Combat Technique got polished

Anyone who has played the game previously knows how lacking and unfinishing was Maria's Frost Element combat technique.
The story of that technique, is that I accidentally released it on a update, but the technique itself was far from being finished,
which anybody could see. Beside, the passive of empowering frost attacks were kind of bugged, so her attacks while in that
technique were... Slightly overpowered...

That changed on this update, because her technique not only got worked on, but also got new skills that you can use in combat,
and allow Maria to make monsters feel like they are in a frigid hell from being hit by her attacks.

The video bellow showcases the new skills at work, but they were in work in progress state so... Yeah, they were finished and
in some cases fixed and rebalanced on the update version.

And nope, Frisk is not playable yet. Sorry.

Refining Interface got changes

Now the refine interface got worked out, and should now look a lot better than the black background it was before.

I also added an animation for the equipment refining, which I syncronized the animation with the sound of the strokes.

By the way, the refining animation will not tell you wether the upgrade was successfull or not, so it's just effect.

New Guild Member Available

I wont talk much about this guy, since I have other plans regarding him. But, I think it would be ridiculous if he only
ended up being released after I complete that specific plan, which could take time, so you can recruit him now, if you
find him, and also beat him.

Samson's Batter Combat Technique Added

This Combat Technique was made possible because of the vote of the amazing people at the Discord Server of the
game project. Instead of the baseball bat being simply a skill, now it's a completely different Combat Technique.

But Samson himself will not come with it. No. This is also the first unlockable Combat Technique in the game.
You need to find the bat and have Samson pick it up to unlock the Combat Technique.

Are you up for the challenge?

Also, as a side comment, I don't think that sprite frame above is ever used in-game. Beside using it now, I also
used it on another post. Feel free to give ideas on what kind of skill could use that frame.

Gavea Sewers B3 is now accessible

You can now explore a bit further into Gavea Sewers... Wait... Are those Kangaroo Bullies..?

We must be getting close to their hide out. Sadly, there's no way to access it right now.

Also, the whole family of Ratos can be found here. Might be a good place to get some necklaces.

By the way, I still plan on adding more monsters to it, so don't feel too comfortable with it right now.

Overburden effect from carrying too many items should affect correctly all group members, that aren't guest members.

Soothening Sound got a nerf on the base healing power inflicted on characters.
Gavea Soldier and Gavea Acolytes guild members will now tell wether the character is male or female in the Guild Application screen, instead of showing either M or F after their name, or nothing at all.
Added measures to avoid small action delays when group members are executing an action like looting items from the ground.
Battle Scenes will no longer count incapacitated and non guild member characters for checking if the player is deserting the battle.
=> Pets will also not count as deserting the battle if away from where the battle center is at.
New Guild Member available. Go find him.
Cryomancy skill got damage increased per level drastically reduced.
Maria's Frost Element Combat Technique got some work:
=> The skill now has proper icon and description.

Junk equipments will no longer require Slime Ooze to refine them. Instead, they will require the same catalyst as Normal type of equipments.
Changed the Refine Interface. Also adding a refining animation to it.
The skill Unlimited Dagger will now have the user be forced to face their target when using the skill.
Added part of Farm Owner Clint's quest line.
Added a rare mini boss in Travellers Path.
Samson can now unlock a new Combat Technique, if you find out how.
Gavea Sewers B3 is now accessible.

What's next?

Well, I still have to finish the Gavea Farmlands quest line. I stopped halfway on the plot of Farm Owner Clint and his Son, even more side effects of your choice aren't viewable yet in the game, so I'll have to work on it.

Another thing I'll need to look into is the Guild Master. I have been delaying working on them for long, so better I get to working on them.

Also, there's a new guild member that is also waiting to be released, but I will need to make a new npc for her recruitment, and setup the stage for her quest.

And there's also the cave in Gavea Crossroads that is inaccessible, and need monsters, without counting that Gavea Sewers B3 also need more monsters.

Well, that's all I've got to say. Spent about an hour writing this patch note, maybe that's what I get for hoarding an update for about 3 months.

I hope you enjoy the new stuff the update brings, and have fun. :)
